Job Description

Responsibilities

• Tests computer equipment in order to isolate faults

• Replaces modules or components to restore equipment to normal operations

• Maintains records of repairs, calibrations and tests

• Fills out time and expense reports

• Maintains parts inventories and relates to parts vendors

• Offers technical advice on ways to keep equipment operational

• Adds new components such as CD drives, disk drives, printers, memory, etc. to existing systems as necessary

• Services equipment at regular intervals to maintain operating standards

Requirements

• Should have a servant heart and be a patient person

• Able to analyze and troubleshoot problems, including hardware, software and OS problems in order to minimize computer downtime

• Good interpersonal skills, with the ability to train others in computer maintenance

• A working knowledge of different computer hardware components for both desktop and laptop computers

• A working understanding of operating systems including Windows, Linux and Apple with an emphasis on MS Windows

• A working knowledge of network systems

• Knowledge of the setup for both the Internet and email system.

• Able to analyze and troubleshoot problems in order to get these systems up and running when they fail

• A working understanding of alternative power sources, their hookup, maintenance and repair

• A working knowledge of MS Office and Open Office applications.

Education & Experience

• CompTIA A+ Certification or equivalent experience.
