Mapping Specialist

Do you love geography and maps? Are you a spatial person? Our SIL Mapping Team has several members retiring within the coming months, and we are looking for an additional person who is responsible for designing, producing and maintaining language maps for Ethnologue.com and other audiences. We are also seeking individuals who have experience with data management and online maps in ArcGIS Enterprise.
Job Description
Responsibilities

Research and verify the accuracy and completeness of data related to the locations of the world's languages.

Liaise with language survey teams and other field staff

Develop online maps containing language-related data
Commitment

Work remotely 20-40 hrs/week, and participate in weekly online meetings. Current team members work remotely from four countries. Co-location available in Dallas, Texas.

Become an SIL member or volunteer
Education and Experience
Training in cartography or equivalent experience with ArcGIS Desktop or ArcGIS Pro. Coursework is available for those who don't yet qualify.
This position is part of the SIL Analytics & Information Management, which coordinates and delivers the strategic information of SIL to those who need and use it.
